Essential Reading for the Conference
Our IDASPC gathering must not reinvent analysis, information, strategies that have been well framed already. We must use our precious time to forge ahead and use what has already been said and understood to reach for the next set of future solutions. These must be based on the current realities and be cognizant of the demonstrated lack of success in applying yesterday’s best ideas and understandings. The following list represents a remarkable and brilliant record of what should be our starting point. These are but initial listings which should become links among our partnership network’s websites; a starting place from which to refine and essentialize what people should know to grow their programs. 1. A Closer Look Media Arts 2003: Case Studies from NAMAC’s Youth Media Initiative; Kathleen Tyner, Editor, 84 pgs monograph, Publisher: National Alliance for Media Arts and Culture Available: namac@namac.org, www.namac.org 2. Three definitive monographs and the most complete 1995-2000 research data base describing the total organizational, economic and workforce realities from the entertainment industry available by free download at www.entertainmentcareers.cc
3. Raising Student Achievement Through Effective Education Partnerships, Policy and Practice (24 pages) |
