Objective: Articulate, qualify and quantify the needs of California-based digital media Entertainment and Manufacturing firms for California trained and educated talent and market enhancement Demand-side Agenda/Key Questions What are the changes that need to be made and by who - for more California trained and educated digital media artists to be hired by California based firms? What consequences are perceived by industry from the $600 million investment in providing digital tools and training in California's high school system? What are appropriate skill sets (both social and technical) and tools requisite for new employees of these firms? What other California industry sectors play a substantial role as employers beyond the entertainment and manufacturing sectors for digital arts trained young people? What is a nominal approximation of the demand for domestic hires, versus out sourcing, by California based firms over the next 1, 3, and 5 years? What challenges/opportunities exist to build market support and development among teen youth and their families in California What coordinated industry strategies can be developed to creatively support community and education system access to emerging digital tools, professional mentors, and exhibition/recognition opportunities?
